AN (Alkylated Naphthalene)

AN (Alkylated Naphthalene) is available from low viscosity to high viscosity grades (AN3/AN5/AN5H/AN15/AN23/AN30), It is API Group V base oils used in a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants. Formulation with AN base oil, the lubricant is better thermo-oxidative stability and long drain interval.

Product Description

1. DESCRIPTION

CAS: 56388-48-8
Molecular formula: C10H7-R

Alkyl naphthalene synthetic base oil has the core advantages of thermal stability, environmental compatibility, and efficient lubrication performance. Its electron rich naphthalene chain interrupts the oxidation chain reaction by adsorbing oxygen or oxygen loving groups, and its thermal decomposition temperature is significantly higher than that of ordinary synthetic oils (such as ester oils). The rotating oxygen bomb test time is ≥ 300 minutes, and it is not easily oxidized or deteriorated in high-temperature scenarios such as turbocharged engines; The molecular structure does not contain easily hydrolyzed functional groups such as ester groups, and its hydrolysis stability is outstanding, avoiding the risk of acid value increase and corrosion in humid or high-temperature environments, especially suitable for harsh working conditions such as air compressor oil. Although lacking polar groups, the electron rich naphthalene nucleus efficiently dissolves additives such as anti-wear agents and antioxidants through polarization, and disperses oil sludge deposits. When compounded with PAO, it compensates for the polarity deficiency of the latter and enhances the synergy of the formula. In terms of material compatibility, it is well adapted to seals such as nitrile rubber, and can balance the swelling and shrinkage of seals with PAO. At the same time, it has excellent anti emulsification performance and is suitable for industrial gear oil and other scenarios that are easily exposed to moisture. In addition, its EHD oil film thickness and pressure viscosity coefficient are better than those of polyol esters, reducing friction and wear. Its low volatility (Noyak evaporation loss ≤ 6%) further reduces the risk of carbon deposition and extends the oil change cycle to over 20000 kilometers.

2. APPLICATIONS

Engine oil: widely used in high-performance engine oil to enhance the thermal oxidation stability and wear resistance of the engine.
Gear oil: Used for the modulation of industrial gear oil, providing excellent wear resistance and extreme pressure performance.
Hydraulic oil: Suitable for hydraulic systems, providing stable lubrication and rust protection.
Compressor oil: Used for lubricating compressors, improving the high-temperature stability and emulsion resistance of oil products.
Lubricating grease: In the lubricating grease formula, it can better disperse thickeners, improve the low-temperature flowability and stability of lubricating grease.
High temperature chain oil: Increases the lifespan of lubricants and reduces volatilization losses.
