1. DESCRIPTION
CAS: 72030-25-2
Molecular formula: (MoSO)2[S2P(OR)2]2
Molybdenum dialkyldithiophosphate, as a lubricant additive, has significant anti-friction properties. It mainly works by decomposing to form molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) and phosphorus and sulfur compounds on high-load friction surfaces, creating a nanoscale protective film that covers the metal surface. This significantly reduces the friction coefficient and enhances anti-wear performance. At the same time, the additive can form sulfur and phosphorus extreme pressure films and molybdenum trioxide films under extreme pressure conditions, enhancing the extreme pressure load-carrying capacity of the lubricant and preventing metal surface damage. Its antioxidant properties can inhibit oil oxidation, reduce the formation of sludge and varnish, and extend the oil change interval. In addition, organic molybdenum can form a corrosion-resistant layer through adsorption and deposition, protecting metal components from rust. It is also compatible with a variety of base oils and other additives (such as dispersants and antioxidants), and is suitable for diverse formulations including engine oils, gear oils, and hydraulic oils.
2. APPLICATIONS
Engine Oil: Enhances fuel efficiency by reducing friction and wear between piston rings and cylinder liners, thereby extending the service life of engine components. It is particularly suitable for high-load diesel engines and turbocharged engines.
Gear Oil: Used in automotive transmissions and industrial gear systems, it reduces the risk of micropitting on gear surfaces by forming an extreme pressure film, thereby enhancing micropitting resistance.
Hydraulic Oil: Reduces pump and valve wear in high-pressure hydraulic systems, ensuring system pressure stability and smooth operation.
Industrial Lubricants: Including compressor oils and way oils, they are suitable for lubrication and protection of high-precision machinery such as machine tools and stamping equipment.
Grease: As an additive, it enhances the extreme pressure and high-temperature stability of grease. The recommended dosage is 1.0-3.0%.
3. RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
Friction modifier: 0.5-2.0%
Anti-oxidant additive: 0.5%-1.0%
