HA161 High Molecular Polyisobutene Bis-Succinimide

Polyisobutene Succinimide is made from high active polyisobutylene by thermal adduction process. As it has good thermal stability, detergency and sludge dispersancy at low temperature, it can inhibit carbon deposition and paint film formation on engine piston. Its detergency at high temperature and high-temperature resistance are much better than traditional T154.

Polyisobutene Succinimide (PIB-SI) is synthesized from high-molecular-weight polyisobutene. Its long-chain structure provides strong steric hindrance, effectively dispersing high-temperature soot particles—for example, 200 nm soot particles in diesel engine oil remain stably suspended—thereby preventing sludge formation. In IIIG engine tests, high-temperature coke deposits were reduced by more than 30% compared with conventional dispersants.

The high-molecular-weight PIB segments enhance oil solubility and adhesion, forming a stable lubricating film on metal surfaces to reduce friction and wear. Its polymeric structure also minimizes high-temperature volatility, extending oil service life, particularly under high-shear conditions. When used in combination with detergents such as high-alkalinity sulfonates or sulfured alkylphenol calcium, it further improves the overall cleaning-dispersing balance of the formulation.

APPLICATIONS

Heavy-duty diesel engine oils: such as API CK-4/FA-4 and Euro VI specification products, suitable for high soot conditions (>6%).
They address low-temperature sludge and high-temperature deposit issues caused by frequent start-stop cycles in hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines.
Used in gas turbine lubricants to provide reliable lubrication in high-temperature gas environments while inhibiting varnish formation.
Meets the lubrication requirements of wind turbine gear oils under high loads and long service intervals.
Range-extended electric vehicle engine oils: designed to maintain oil stability while balancing electric drive operation with internal combustion engine performance.
